Description

<p>The Elbe Sandstone Mountains south-east of Dresden are certainly one of the most scenic and excellent climbing areas in Europe. Bizarre rock towers, romantic gorges, endless forests - even the Romantic painters were fascinated by the rocky landscape to the right and left of the Elbe. Over 150 years of climbing tradition have preserved a very strict set of rules here: there are only a few safety rings and no metal wedges or friends may be used. But to conclude from this that climbing on the more than thousand towers is poorly secured or even dangerous is wrong. Many of the more than 21,000 climbing routes can be excellently secured with the existing rings and additional slings. In this richly illustrated guide, Helmut Schulze and Valentin H&ouml;lker have compiled a selection of over 300 of the most rewarding sandstone routes, mainly in difficulty grades I to VII - with clear topos and important tips on belaying. The aim is to make it easier for pleasure climbers, those new to the area and beginners to get started in Elbe sandstone climbing.</p> <div>The 2nd edition contains a total of 46 new crags and textiles with almost 150 new routes, making a total of almost 100 new pages. Look forward to it!</div> <div></div>
