Precise cycle and hiking tour planning on signposted routes Special sheet section for areas of tourist interest Extensive range of leisure facilities and places of interest Clear depiction of the terrain The UK50-48 map sheet contains the following places, among others: Füssen, Pfronten, Reutte, Nesselwang, Halblech, Steingaden, Forggensee, Neuschwanstein, Hohenschwangau, Ammergau Alps, southern Auerbergland, Ammergebirge, Lechfall, Lechrain, Wieskirche, Oberammergau, Unterammergau, Linderhof, Steingaden, Weißenbach a.Lech, Roßhaupten, Hopfensee, Plansee, Tannheimer Tal, Kreuzspitze, Hochplatte, Zugspitze Füssen may only be a small town, but it is still world-famous thanks to Ludwig II. He had Neuschwanstein Castle built above the neighboring village of Schwangau - a destination for 1.5 million tourists every year. But that's not the only attraction: the old town of Füssen with its monastery and high castle is well worth a visit, as is Hohenschwangau Castle, the Lech Falls with its forest adventure center, Forggensee lake with its summer boat trips and the festival theater. The surrounding area is no less attractive and awaits discovery by cyclists and walkers. To the north, the Auerbergland and the southern Lechrain, as well as the Wieskirche church. The peaceful and varied Ammergau Alps attract walkers and mountain bikers, as well as culture vultures visiting Linderhof Castle or Oberammergau with its festival theater. The Tannheimer Tal ("most beautiful high valley in Europe"), between the Tannheimer Berg&Tal and the Allgäu Alps, offers rugged peaks and magnificent lakes, while the Tiroler Lech Nature Park protects one of the last wild rivers in the Alps. And the area around Pfronten, Nesselwang and Grüntensee focuses on fun as well as mountains: with high ropes courses, zipline park, summer toboggan run and children's entertainment.
