<p>The new Birdie belay device from Beal is a practical semi-automatic belay device for lead and second belaying.</p> <p>To provide perfect braking force support, all friction components are made from stainless steel. These also help to improve durability and minimize rope abrasion. To guarantee perfect performance when belaying, it locks the rope automatically, as with other semi-automatic devices, if a fall occurs or the rope is loaded. The brake lever allows the climber to lower the rope quickly and easily.</p> <p>Compatible rope diameter: 8.5 to 10.5 mm.</p>
